What We Do
Providing hope and holistic support for babies born behind bars

Early Childhood Support
At Hope for Prison Babies Initiative Uganda, we believe that every child—no matter where they are born—deserves a strong start in life. Our early childhood support program is designed to nurture babies born and raised in prison, providing them with the developmental care they need to grow and thrive.
We collaborate with the Uganda Prisons Service and other partners to ensure that these infants receive age-appropriate nutrition, healthcare, and stimulation through play and learning activities. Our team supplies essential items like clothing, diapers, toys, and blankets to ensure safety and comfort in often harsh prison conditions.
Through guided play sessions, caregiver education, and emotional bonding initiatives, we’re helping prison babies develop cognitive, emotional, and physical skills that are vital for their future—while also strengthening the mother-child bond.
Because no child should grow up without joy, safety, and love—even in confinement.
